“For the past year I have been Chairman of the group preparing the Parish Plan for Modbury. Through the surveys we have conducted I have seen the problems facing the residents of Modbury and the villages in this part of the South Hams. The desire to keep local shops and Post Offices at the centre of our communities; the need for truly affordable housing for local people; the universal problems of parking and road safety; the need for facilities for our youngsters; the lack of police presence... As a Councillor for Erme Valley Ward I'll do my utmost to help resolve these problems.”

Mark has lived in Modbury since 1997. He grew up in the South Hams and went to schools in Slapton and Kingsbridge.

He has worked in Industry and for 23 years with Somerset County Council, with experience in planning, finance, IT and management.
He is married to Joan with four grown up children and three grandchildren. He is a keen sportsman and is currently trying to improve his badminton. He enjoys going to the cinema and theatre and walking along the beaches, cliffs and footpaths of our beautiful county.
