The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity - Preamble to the Liberal Democrat Constitution

Our intention is that this website will be a useful resource for local people to find out more about the local Liberal Democrats in South West and the campaigns we are running.

We would like to give a special thank you to all the people who supported us in the recent elections. So many kind words and expressions of support, and of course your commitment to come out and vote for us on the day. We have made great gains and pushed our overall vote up. What is particularly exciting is that we have increased our seats on South Hams District Council, so a big congratulations to both Keith Baldry and Mark Lawrence, who I’m sure will work very hard for their local communities and South West Devon as a whole. Once again thank you to all our supporters who delivered leaflets, knocked on doors, and worked so hard in the build up to the May elections. Well done all.
